Two fatalities in Downtown Brampton house fire

A house fire late Thursday evening was reported to have been “knocked down” in the Downtown Brampton area (Queen and Mill St) by Brampton Fire & Emergency Services. A short while later, Peel Police confirmed two fatalities.

Brampton Fire Chief Bill Boyes said that “crews were faced with heavy fire on arrival and rescued one resident from the roof.”

The fire is under investigation with the Ontario Fire Marshall, Peel Police, and Brampton Fire investigators. Early reports indicate the property was a rooming house and the victims were found on the upper level.
