KCACanada.org event poster

It is a struggle for established Canadians to cope with the effects of the COVID-19 crisis. Now imagine the financial uncertainty and emotional roller coaster of recently moving to Canada and having to find your way through this unprecedented crisis. We are certainly all in this together and Canadians across the country and here in Brampton are coming together to help our neighbours who are struggling.

The Kenyan Canadian Association is doing their part to help newcomers from all backgrounds by organizing the Spring Canada Newcomers Webinar. The interactive webinar includes knowledgeable experts and community leaders who will help address issues affecting recent immigrants. Participants will also get first hand information on what the various levels of Government are doing to alleviate the burden of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of the topics on the extensive agenda include COVID-19 benefits, work permits, foreign Credentials assessment, mental health, nutrition, wellness, personal finance and taxes.

The event includes many notable speakers including local leaders Mayor Patrick Brown and MP Ruby Sahota, immigration consultants and lawyers, a housing consultant, an employment and career specialist and a registered psychotherapist.

MPP Laura Mae Lindo, Critic for Anti Racism and Critic for Citizenship and Immigration Services at the Ontario Legislative Assembly will also be presenting jointly with MPP Faisal Hassan.
