Industry Jobs

Often when people search our site, they are not just looking for the best Mississauga condos online. They are looking for a way of life, and that includes not just real estate but a job as well.

Fortunately, if you do decide on a condo in the Mississauga area, there are plenty of jobs to be found both in this city and in the Greater Toronto Area at large. Those with previous experience in industrial work, or with skills in these areas, will be happy to know that there are lots of employment opportunities available. Let's take a look at a few highlights.

Industrial Engineering

Looking for a job mapping out underground systems, putting together telecommunications lines, or other industrial wiring projects? There is always room for someone with experience in vacuum excavation and other detection skills within the city. Start your own business or find work with an established company; even in the middle of a recession there is a need for pros in these areas.

Metalworking

A large part of the industrially zoned areas of Mississauga contain companies which create metals for other industrial purposes. Whether we're talking swaged fittings or notched sheets, there is something to be found here for anyone with skills in manipulating metals.

Plastics

Although somewhat vilified in recent years, plastic and plastic products are still a very important part of our day to day lives. Plastic is used to manufacture toys, create high temperature insulation, and to protect our goods when shipped, among other things. Companies such as CPIA have plants operating in the Mississauga area.

Manufacturing

Mississauga is home to some of the most important parts and equipment manufacturing companies in the GTA. These companies must use incredible precision when creating the components which help society and our equipment run. The factories producing this machinery requires people trained in the use of a bench calibrator as well as those who can work on the assembly line.

Pharmaceuticals

Not all industry work involves industrial rotary valves and conveyor belts. The pharmaceuticals industry includes a lot of factory work, but that work tends to be fairly high tech and precise. There are opportunities for blue collar labour, but for the most part those employed in this industry require some type of higher education.

And of course, there are all the industrial jobs that make a city like Mississauga function. Heavy duty mechanics, plumbers, electricians, and other trades specialists are as in demand here as anywhere else.
